Whatever Happened to Penny Candy by Richard J. Maybury
Understanding economic issues is imperative for today's politically active woman. "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy", by Richard J. Maybury, is a book recommended to help people of all ages understand "investment cycles, velocity, business cycles, recessions, inflation, the demand for money and more" using "historical events from ancient Rome to explain economic principles". (specifically Austrian/monetarist economics vs. Keynesian economics) We encourage you to involve your entire family in this month's book club selection--this book is the first of Maybury's "Uncle Eric" series, as he plays the part of an economist writing a series of letters to his niece or nephew. So, grab a copy and settle in for a month of easy, but fascinating reading, about a topic most people think is far too difficult to understand.

Trainer: Tami Nantz

Tami Nantz is the founder of Moms 4 Sarah Palin, a political blog launched during the 2008 presidential campaign. In October 2008, an article written by Florida Sun Sentinal's Anthony Mann examined the role of alternative social media and featured Moms 4 Sarah Palin, garnering it national attention. As a result, CNN featured Tami and her blog on Anderson Cooper 360, as well as the Campbell Brown Show. Tami and her political writing also gained mention in Leslie Sanchez's book, You've Come a Long Way, Maybe. A writer and political activist engaged in conservative issues through social media, Tami is currently researching the rise of conservative women in American politics. She hopes to publish her findings in a book. Tami is a graduate of Bob Jones University and lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband and daughter.
